Hoya pachyclada is endemic to Thailand. It has thick, rounded, succulent leaves. Blooms are fragrant and the scent is stronger in the evening. Do not cut off the peduncles or spurs because flowers will develop from the same spur come next blooming time. The umbel produces more blooms as the plant gets older. The thick, fleshy leaves are heavy and reflects on the shipping.
This is one of my favorite Hoyas as it is an easy and early bloomer, one of the most prolific bloomers among all Hoyas. And unlike most Hoyas, that tend to 'pout' when moved while developing flower buds, Hoya pachyclada is one exception. It's not easy to describe the exact scent of the blooms, but my nose detects citrusy-gingery, lemon grass hint.
