About

My first encounter with Crown of Thorns was back in 1995 when I was vacationing in the Philippines and COT was the craze back then. I was based in Rome at that time and was living in a small apartment so even though I wanted so much to grow some it would be impossible to fit in my tiny balcony already full of my cactus and herbs collection.

Fast forward 2010, I moved to Texas and the following year I purchased my first Crown of Thorns from a flea market, the old salmon colored cultivar. And from that time on it was an addiction, I wanted more colors, more varieties. I purchased from every online seller, from eBay to Amazon, and bought seeds from Thailand as well. my collection grew into the hundreds, and I started sharing them on eBay as by then I was already selling dragon figurines. Sales were good and supply started to run short. The problem is where to find new cultivars that can be ordered in bulk. There were some US sellers whom I have made orders online, but I wanted new and better varieties, giant breeds with excellent qualities.

So, in 2016 I went to Thailand and met with owners of one of the largest Crown of Thorns exporter worldwide, L&P Farm. Their farm was so vast and have at least 3 of them in Thailand.

As I go along with my COT journey, I met quite a few excellent breeders from Thailand and endeavor to learn from them. As a Crown of Thorns enthusiast, I grow my plants with passion and dedication, and I continually try to learn new methods not only on how to grow this particular plant successfully, but also on how to develop new colors through cross pollination.
