Madulid's hoya or Hoya madulidii has unique leaves, they are pubescent yet glossy (most hairy leaves appear to be velvety and not shiny at all) and have the habit to curve backwards which differentiate it from Hoya ciliata with leaves that are flat and even. H. Madulidii is referred to as the BLACK HOYA.
This hoya produces large, gorgeous blooms the color of black cherries and would hang on for two weeks. Coronas are golden yellow tinged with black at the center.
This is one easy-to-root, easy-to-care Hoya.
Hoya madulidii, is native to the Philippines. It was named after Dr Domingo Madulid, a Filipino botanist and author of several books.
